Trailblazer headlight repair procedure.

Thank you thank you thank you. My mind has been boggled for the last three days trying to figure out what was wrong with my lights.I took it to a shop and I was about to replace the whole assembly. Thanks.
 Your welcome. Glad to help.

Had same problem with head lights, it was the relay.. Thank you :)

Both low beams out at same time. Took your suggestion on relay everything working like it is suppose to today. Thanks you so much. Cost at auto parts house + tax 37.00 Take old one in and let them match it up.

Regarding the advice about changing a faulty headlamp relay, that was right on the money. The 2004 Chevy Trailblazer low beam headlight went out simultaneously. I first checked the fuses and they were ok, so after reading the aforementioned and swapping the low and high beam headlamp relay, the lights worked again.

Thanks man i took it to a car shop and they couldn't even figure it out thats the one relay i think they didn't look at because it was tagged HDI!

I've had the same problem with the dim lights on 2005 Trailblazer. The first time this happened was about 6 months ago and now both lights are out again. Is there something deeper causing the relay to fault? I hate to carry a spare, but better than being in the dark.

This worked for me also with my 2002 Trailblazer. Thank you so much!

So glad I found this forum! Advance Auto told me I would have to replace the sensor and it would cost 165.00! Money I didn't have! So you saved me money and time! Thanks a lot! ;0)

I had the same problem with my 2005 Trailblazer. Went out and bought 2 new headlights and only to realize that it was not the bulbs. Went to a local chain auto parts store and for 33 bucks they were fixed. Thank you all very much.

Worked like a charm! Saved at least $200 not going to the Dealership. The weird thing is that before I replaced the relay I checked for voltage at the wiring harness which connects to the bulb and had 13.8 volts one time and 10.7 volts another time with the bad relay. How can I have voltage there with the relay not working?

I used your info about the headlamp rely. Both low beams went out last night at same time. Too suspect. Drove home with high-beams on. Got more than a few 'high-beam' flip-offs! In morning, switched the 45,46 relys. Daylight/low beams came on. Swicthed rely back and drove to 2 different auto parts stores. Replaced 'bad' rely with a good $35 one at the store. Drove home happy with my daylight running lights! Thanks! 2002 Chevy Trailblazer.

My drivers side Low Beam went out, so I bought a new bulb and before I could replace it the passenger side went out. After I changed the bulb it still didn't work. I checked online and checked all fuses and swapped the #46 and 45 relays and nothing. Anything else I can manually check or is it time to bring it in?

What a web-site i have a 2002 trailblazer and had my low beams go out the other day. Checked everything and also mechanic. Just for the hell of it i Googled the problem and came up with this site. I did the black relay 45-46 switch and bam they worked again!!. thanks !!!!!!

I read your information and went to work. Popped my hood found the relays, switched them and Bam, headlights on. Switched them back and, no headlights. Went to Auto Zone, told the guy what the problem was and what I needed. He looked at me and said are you sure? I said yes, I Googled it and did what it said and it worked, so I need a headlamp relay. I told him it will cost about $35.00 plus tax. It was $38.14 with tax and all. The salesman looked at me and said Dang you have did your homework. I got it took it outside and put it in and said Thanks.
