GMC Jimmy Transmission Solenoid Code P1860

Question:
WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS ANY OTHER CHECKS THAT CAN BE DONE. WENT THROUGH THE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK GIVEN BY MITCHELL'S AND EVERYTHING IS CHECKING OUT O.K. THE ONLY THING I SEE WEIRD IS WHEN USING THE SCANNER AND LOOKING AT TRANS DATA THE 2-3 SOLENOID DISPLAY SAY OPEN/SHORT AND THIS GOES FROM YES TO NO RANDOMLY AND NO OTHERS DO THIS. WHICH LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THIS SOLENOID WAS BAD, SO I REPLACED IT ALSO AND HAD SAME PROBLEM AND SAME DISPLAY ON SCANNER.

2000 GMC JIMMY SERVICE ENGINE SOON. GM transmission codes P1860. Repairs = REPLACED INTERNAL TRANS WIRING HARNESS WITH TCC SOLENOID, PWM SOLENOID, 1-2,2-3 SOLENOIDS AND STILL HAVE SAME CODE.

Answer:
To diagnose code P1860 further, can you verify that you have battery voltage at the pink wire of the trans connector. Have you checked continuity of brown wire from trans connector to PCM? Does the transmission shift normally?

Question:
Suspected passlock theft system problem. Fuel pump fuse blow when trying to reset passlock. This occurs when turning key to on position. Any suggestions?

Answer:
Usually the security 'passlock' system would not cause the fuel pump fuse to blow, even if faulty. You may be looking at two different problems, if in fact you do have a passlock issue. If the security light is on constantly, you probably have set a trouble code for the theft deterrent system on your vehicle. It would help to retrieve that code to aid in diagnosis.

If the passlock sensor needs replaced, it is part of the ignition cylinder housing in the steering column. The column has to be disassembled and the housing replaced, then the security system can be relearned properly. With the fuel pump fuse popping, you could have a wiring issue.

A short or faulty wire can cause this, or even the ignition switch itself. You'd have to start disconnecting components, or trace the wiring to find your trouble. It is possible as well, that the fuel pump itself is shorted out and causing the fuse the blow.
