Key Fob,93 5th Ave,not working
It seems to work when it wants to.
Is there a wire that is a memory connection?

Re: Key Fob,93 5th Ave,not working
If it works sometimes, then it is not a programming problem. Most likely the remote is bad. The electrcial contacts on the inside get corroded or worn out.
Re: Key Fob,93 5th Ave,not working
how old is the battery in the remote?

I took it to OReilys, they have a tester for fobs there.TerryAuto wrote:If it works sometimes, then it is not a programming problem. Most likely the remote is bad. The electrcial contacts on the inside get corroded or worn out.
It works good there.

if the remote is good and the batteries are good then it would be the receiver in the vehicle is not able to interpret the signal.

You have two intermittent variables. a sender and a receiver-actuator. You need to find out which part is not working. Do you only have one remote? Do you have two remotes? Does this intermittent problem seem the same with either one of the transmitters, remotes?
because it works sometimes and doesn't some times it will be difficult to find. You can only verify the problem when the remote won't work with the car. When you had your remote checked at O'Reily's was you car close so you could see if the signal was working with the car as well as whatever they used? ie. they said the remote was sending a signal and the car was seeing that signal too or not? How did O'Reily's check your remote? If the car was working when the tester said "good signal" you need to keep going until it either stops sending the signal or the locks stop working. then you know which end to concentrate on. If you can't get it NOT to work you might have to buy your own remote tester to keep checking until the door lock stops working with a good signal or the signal from the transmitter stops working. http://www.canton-electronics.com/wirel ... p-194.html
if you turn the ignition on, (dash indicators on) engine off (not running) you would need to connect pin #5 plug in #2 of the keyless receiver module, behind the glove box, to ground the module should lock and then unlock the doors. D9 20dark green. Then it ready to receive the transmitter code. push any button on the remote. If you have another remote activate that one too. Then remove the ground and see if the remotes are working. Basically that's a reprogram.
