Voltmeter issue and lights dim

Unread post by joshua » Sat Mar 16, 2013 4:34 pm

Dear sir, I own a 2006 Trailblazer 4.2l, the problem I am having is the voltmeter goes up and down from about 10v to 14v when I use the windows, AC etc. It does recover but my interior lights dim along with my exterior lights. I so far have changed the Battery, Altenator and the HDM relay with no success to this problem it does at idle and while driving.

This is quite a common complaint with the Trailblazer line, but unfortunately this is very normal. There are many service bulletins about this issue, and all of them basically explain that the electrical load on the vehicle varies, so dimming lights, and volt gauge fluctuation is considered a 'normal operating characteristic'. You can change all the parts you want, but you'll never fix the problem because there is no problem. You either have to deal with it, or get another vehicle.
