2005 Chevy Duramax speed sensor location

Silverado Transmission Question

I have found a transmision (standard) that supposedly will work in a 1991 Silverado with an anutomatic. Is this true? Larry

maybe i should have made myselfr more clear... I want to put a standrad tranny in it..

You would need to see if the belljousing bolt pattern is the same.
But it sounds like it will bolt up.

Speedometer is out on my 2005 Chevy Duramax C-3500. Where is the speed sensor located?

Should be on the tailshaft of the transfercase.

There is a lot more to replacing an automatic transmission with a manual. You will have to plug up or change the trans cooler lines, cut a hole in the floor for the shifter, add a clutch pedal linkage and fluid reservoir etc.

This is a big job with a lot of modification. Would you not be better of putting in the correct transmission? Anything can be done with enough modify, time and money.
