We will need to know the codes stored in the computer.
Anytime a check engine light is on, codes are stored.
These codes give an indication as to what system is having a problem.
Many of the large parts store chains will do this for free.
Sometimes the oil change place will check the air filter and leave something unplugged.

1992 Chevy Cavalier Engine Misfire

Unread post by don't know anymore » Thu Sep 02, 2010 8:02 pm

92 cavalier, 250,000 miles, started with a miss in engine while idling, changed: coil pak, plugs, wires, coolant sensor, check injectors electrically (coming and going), now is still missing, and pulling air through the valve cover, has destroyed the gasket in order to pull air through, what is going on? and how do I fix this car? and is it even worth trying to fix? thanks for your help and attention to this matter.

Sounds like a PCV valve problem or an internal engine problem such as burned valves.
