Impala A/C Temperature Problem And Codes

2002 Chevy Impala codes p0480 and p0481 - now just p0481. Replaced A/C line about 3 months prior. The hard line upfront in the same area. Changed relay and fuses on fans 1 and 2.

Question:
I changed relays on number 1 and 2 fans and also changed the fuses for each. I cleared the codes with my pocket scanner. Good for about 3 days. The light comes back on & blows fuse.

Same code set PO481. I cant keep fuse form blowing - car runs hotter but does not overheat. 1 fan is not working Cant see a broken wire or anything do I need a fan motor ?

2006 Chevy Impala LS V6. Question = When I turn the dial on my thermostat to any temp setting a loud clicking noise comes from under the dash. After a minute or two it will go away, but as soon as I turn it again the clicking noise comes back..How can I fix this problem myself and what do I need to do it.. Thanks

Answer:
When you adjust the temperature on the HVAC control head, it sends a signal to an actuator that moves the temperature door inside the heater case to the appropriate level. The clicking you hear is the actuator trying to turn, but can't because something is binding or broken.

You'll probably need to replace the temperature door actuator to correct this. You may also want to check the temperature door itself and make sure the tab that fits into the actuator is not broken off. If you have dual temp control, there are two actuators. One is on the left side of the heater case and the other is on the right side. You may want look under the dash, after removing the trim, kick panels, etc, and listen to see which one it is.

It's not that difficult to replace an actuator, they are kind of far up in the dash but accessible enough to change.
