How To Replace 2001 Chevy Venture Van Keys
Question:
I have a 2001 chevy venture.I was given one key and like a dope I didn't make an
extra. That key was lost about three weeks ago.I need a new one and my husband refuses to
get it towed to a dealership. They told me I would have to have it towed in to have the key cut
and programmed,is this true. I have had problems in the past of being given incorrect
information so they can make a buck off of me.
Is there anyway to have the key replaced without having it towed in. And yes it has a transponder chip in it. Isn't there any way to disable the key computer system?
Answer:
After getting a new key, you can try this procedure below.
To get a key, you will need to give the parts dept. your VIN #, show proof of ownership, and
