1997 pontiac Transport SE 3.4 v6 3400. Dash lights computer codes = p0740  p0753.

Question = I know the
codes p0753 p0740 what should I expect to pay to get the van fixed? Can I
drive it? What will happen if I did? Please advise!

Answer:
If you are thinking that you need to replace the 1-2 shift solenoid, and the TCC solenoid, the parts
are approx. $175 with gaskets and fluid. It is quite labor intensive. The entire driver side frame
need to be lowered to remove the side cover. Expect to pay 5-6 hours labor.

Driving with these codes, and the probable shifting problems for an extended period of time can
start to cause other internal trans. Problems.

Note: There is a service bulletin describing these codes that may be an electrical problem not in
the trans, and not the solenoids.

Problem with my 1996 Pontiac Bonneville.3.8L 3800 V-6 check engine light GM codes for
transmission control solenoid.
Question = Where is the transmission control solenoid located on the transmission?

Answer:
If you are referring to the Pressure Control Solenoid valve (would need trouble code number) , it
is located in the valve body of the trans. The side cover would have to come off. As looking
through the drivers side wheel well, it is on the left side of the valve body, just above the TCC
solenoid.
