question = My wife`s car was stolen the other day. My fault. Spare key
was in my truck. Car was fine before hand. Now all dash lights come on
and battery is no good. I assume alternator. I tried to get alt. off to
no avail. How does it come off?
Thank you.

JK
There is a pic of bolt locations. From the main Q and A page, click link for 'Replace
alternator for 1997 chevy...' about question #45. It is cavalier, but the same as yours. The
alt. comes up and out. With all dash lights on, i think you  may have more then a bad
alternator (if it is bad). If car wont start, may just be a shorted out battery internally. That
would give many different electrical problems. If all lights on and car is running, then you
may have other electrical problems.
