Look carefully at the terminals in the crank sensor connector for one of them being spread apart and also inspect the wires a few inches from it. The belt may have damaged a wire.
But since you have spark, this is not too likely, but you never know.

You also do have fuel pressure, but do you have fuel injector signal. A small test light or a "Noid" light plugged into an injector connector while cranking should blink.

The Car Just Runs Too Good, other than a pwer stearing leak {bought part-lil swivel connector} suppose to"push to release" ford told me they have NEVER been able to make'em come appart,I tried n couldnt, they say they replace the whole hose..anyway,That leak Drips all over the belt & everything else..I know..its a mess, one day whn got mny will replace..the serp belt was more like mushy jelly than a belt..."but" still runs{ran}great..any clue??

Yes, spark and fuel pressure, but are the fuel injectors getting the electrical signal to actually pulse the fuel into the engine?

One other thing though. Since you have been trying to start so many times, and now you got the crank sensor fixed, maybe the engine is just really flooded. Try cranking with your foot on the gas all the way to the floor. This will usually clear out a flooded engine. It may take a lot lot of cranking, but usually works. If it is just flooded, after 20-30 seconds of cranking, it should start to sound like "Almost wants to start", then slowly get closer and closer to starting, until finally starting.

Or remove the spark plugs, clean them and blow out the cylinders with compressed air if you have any.

Yes, this is suppose to be for a 1997 2.0L.
But here is the problem- earlier you said the engine did not sound right, sounded like no compression. The noise is of course because the engine timing is off. Now, after you replace the belt and get it timed correctly, there is still a chance that when the belt and tensioner went bad, the valves hit the pistons and bent them. So, still no compression.

If that is the case, now you are talking about removing the cylinder head and either replacing the valves or the cylinder hed itself.
