Doors not locking properly

Unread post by The Goat » Thu Dec 24, 2009 8:55 am

My doors are not locking with the keyless entry like they should. One or two may lock but the other two won't. Could this be fuse issues or motor issues since it happens with the inside door lock switch as well?

If certian doors dont lock with both the remotes and the switches, then it is most likely the actuator in the affected door(s).
They get weak and dont move fully, or not at all.

Turn Signal/Hazards Confusion

Unread post by tcalcaterra » Thu Jan 28, 2010 9:38 am

Electrical problem
2003 Chevy Tahoe V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 190000 miles

When I attempt to engage the left turn signal, the hazards come on. This does not happen everytime I engage the left turn signal but happens about 90% of the time.

I can engage the right turn signal without issue and can engage the hazards without issue.

Is it a fuse? Any thoughts on how I can fix this issue?

This could be an actual bulb problem. Be sure to check them all on that side.
Also look closely at the bulb sockets.
Try wiggling the turn signal switch handle to see if you can get it correct itself or make it worse.

Thanks Mecboy-

I can, sometimes, get the turn signal to work without the hazards by repeatedly engaging and disengaging the left turn signal until just the turn signal goes on...this seems to be hit or miss...does that still lead you to believe that it can be a bulb related issue?

No, this makes me think it is a problem in the turn signal switch assembly.

You should listen to the affected door while energizing the door lock. If a click is heard but the lock did not engage, a problem with the door lock mechanism or linkage is the most likely cause.
