Unread post by flbills » Tue Jan 28, 2014 8:44 am

Trying to locate sensor 1 bank 1 O2 sensor on 3.8l impala. Have seen various diagrams, but not helping. I'm looking for a diagram or pic of exact location.
Thanks in advance.

bank one is the bank that has the #1 cylinder. sensor 1 is before the cat. if you have the original coils the coil will have numbers on them telling where the cylinder are. See this link... https://www.greatautohelp.com/inspectio ... ation.html

I understand that sensor1 is before the cat, but cannot find it. Is it located on the exhaust manifold just forward the firewall?

you're going to need to have a professional look at your vehicle.

there are so many things that could be wrong. a step by step diagnosis will need to be done to figure what system or component failed you. Fuel system, drive belt, ignition system, battery or charging system... Someone will need to look at your vehicle and get detailed information on what happened and what your car has working and what is not working.
