The shift solenoids are in the valve body.
The valve body is behind the tranmsission side cover.
You would need to loosen the steering intermediate shaft and pop it off the steering rack, lower the drivers side of the frame while supporting the engine / trans. / frame so it does not fall out, remove the transmission mount, left axle, then the side cover. Now the solenoids can be replaced. There are several on the valvebody.
Not somthing I would want to do in my garage.

1998 Venture Ambient Temp Calibration

Unread post by txswordmaker » Sat Jul 19, 2014 9:54 pm

I replaced the ambient temp sensor, but am still getting readings of 44-47 F in the Alabama summer. Is there a way to recalibrate the temp?

After replacing the ambient temp sensor, it just takes time for it to calibrate itself. Drive it a few miles, shut it off, then drive a few more miles, then let idle for a few minutes. If that does not work, try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, then drive it again.

If all else fails, the sensor may not have been the problem. Check that the wiring at the connector for the senos is not corroded.

Thanks, yes, after sitting over night, it seems to have reset itself and is now reporting accurate temperatures.
