Isuzu Rodeo hatch won't open

Unread post by elaaden » Thu Sep 26, 2013 11:20 am

I have a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo. The rear bumper was damaged previously backing up into a tree. The bumper kind of looks like its falling down a little. I'm not sure if its directly related to the hatch not opening.

The glass part seems to be locked in place, while the hatch can actually be unlocked. However someone decided to use extreme force, and caused the lock in the hatch to fall inside, so now there is just a hole where the lock used to be. Before that, the hatch was able to lock and unlock, but couldn't be opened because the glass part couldn't be unlocked since it was just stuck in place.

How can I fix this?

It may be that the back of your vehicle is twisted a little and the parts are jammed. If you do get them to open they may not close again
need to check with a body shop
