Re: 1997 sl2 1.9 saturn
Thats the one, Thanks. Will it have anything to do with what its doing to the stall?
Re: 1997 sl2 1.9 saturn
probably not. but stranger things have happened. replace the oil pressure switch and see if it changes anything.

Re: 1997 sl2 1.9 saturn
Ok cool thanks. Also my brakes are completely gone, as far as bleeding them will that only work if i do all 4? its front wheel drive. My alternator also as far as i know is not working my battery was not charged i jumped it off when i took the negative post off of it and tested but shut off. When this is tested do i need a charged battery? If not then anyway i could clean alternator or something?
Re: 1997 sl2 1.9 saturn
ok, lets do this one at a time.
brakes, bleeding the brakes, you only need to bleed the brakes if you open the hydraulic system. Or all your fluid leaked out and air entered the system. If you replace a part that requires that you bleed the brakes, normally you only have to bleed that part of the system that you open the systems up to. But, it doesn't hurt to bleed the whole system. you can flush the system while you bleed the brakes.
Many things can make your battery go dead. Does the dash have the battery light on when it is running? With the car running measure the battery voltage. with the engine running it should be between 13.8 t0 14.2. (with a good battery) you should charge your battery before you test it and/or the charging system.

Re: 1997 sl2 1.9 saturn
Ahh alright, And at the moment the car will not crank due to battery charge i can get jumped off tho. Also the torque converter switch i don't understand what that is or where it is located, The cables connected directly on top of the transmission, Under/Near brake, Only thing on top of tranny, Or is it indeed the circular metal container thing inside tranny?
Re: 1997 sl2 1.9 saturn
if the car has to be jumped, disconnect the battery and charge it up. see if the battery will keep a charge. maybe your battery is bad.
if your car dying when you put it in gear started when you changed the motor, check to see if you have a pinched wire somewhere and verify that all the fuses are good. make sure the fluid in the trans is full and in good shape
