Unread post by doug123 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 5:02 pm

Where is the passlock module on a 2001 5.7L chevy Express 3500. Been told below center of dash. Thats no help. What do i have to move behind dash to find it. Have no 12v to passlock sensor. Power comes from the Passlock module. THANKS Doug.

The Passlock sensor/module is actually part of the ignition cylinder housing. It is located in the steering column, and most of the column has to be torn down to access and/or replace it. This is the piece that the ignition cylinder slides into, it is an aluminum case/housing and is bolted to the mid-section of the column.

If you end up having to replace it, a theft learn procedure will have to be done before the van will start.

After much searching, nearly disassembling a 2000 GMC Savana 3500 van and reading much info , all which was not very helpful , we found this very hidden module. If you reach your hand above the gas pedal above the heater duct work the module snaps into a bracket. It is very hidden and impossible to see but trust me , it is there.
