2007 Ford Taurus won't start

Unread post by pisces67 » Mon Oct 06, 2014 2:06 pm

When I try to start my car it try VERY slowly to turn over before finally starting. This went on for a week, now today it is just dead. All the lights radio everything works, so i don't think its the battery, plus its only couple months old. It clicks then nothing. Please help. Plus the starter is 1 1/2 years old and the alternator is 8 months old. I don't know if it is anything but I accidently put 5w 30 oil in my car and it says to use 5w 20....

the oil won't make it so it won't turn over. It sounds like you should have your starter looked at though. not so much your battery yet. Turning over slowly sounds like the starter may be dragging. that will cause an excessive draw on the battery. now, it may be the starter has gone out. or you have a bad connection down at the starter.

Your starter may still be under warranty. call the place that replaced it and see if they will warranty it. If you replaced it yourself call the parts place and see if they will warranty the part. (if it's a bad starter)
