Well, it's kind of an odd coincidence that it stopped running again. I would say it's probably something to do with the previous repair. If you bought an aftermarket fuel pump, I'd say for sure it probably went out..you get what you pay for. You really need to use GM parts.

I'd recommend rechecking your work, maybe a line or wire got pinched under there when the tank went back up into position, or maybe the pump's electrical connector came disconnected. Hard to say, but I would concentrate in the area you just worked on. A quick fuel pressure check would tell you if the pump went out or not.

01 Bravada "brake motor"

Unread post by Mike1252 » Fri Jan 31, 2014 9:58 pm

A parts store scanner said I needed an EBCU. I bought one that is connected to the EHBM (I'm guessing called the 'motor.). I doesn't look hard to replace the unit, but there are several brake lines screwed into it. What about bleeding these lines? A friend of mine who runs an "old-school" brake shop says he could bleed them manually, but is not at all certain that is how it's supposed to be done. He worries that if we do it wrong, there may be no brakes; and I'd need to have it towed to the dealer.

Thanks! Can you tell me any more about how the scanner is used in the bleeding process?

when you go to bleed the brakes there is a portion of the scanner that will tell the ABS module that you are going to bleed the brakes and allow the system to purge aid when you bleed the system.

99 oldsmobile bravada

I replaced the rear brakes and now they smoking and get extremely hot going no further than a couple city blocks and back. With the wheel off, my rotor wiggles. Don't know if that's normal. I've changed the caliper poison too. It's there a video anywhere I can watch?

Thanks

Can you tell me step by step what you did to your brakes? did you do the rear disc pad replacement or did you do the rear parking brake shoe replacement, or both? they shouldn't smoke when you are done.

The brake rotors are just laying over the top of your axle hub so yes, they can move in and out while the wheel is off. Tightening (torque to 95 ft/lb) the wheel studs locks the wheel and rotor to the hub.
