1996 chevy g series van

Unread post by cowboy66112003 » Wed Jan 08, 2014 9:39 pm

It will run for a few miles, then at a stop will idle down and die. Then will not start for 3-4 hours. It is not overheating. It does run and idle rough after it has been put in gear. It idles fine prior to that once started. Any clues as I am stumped. I am thinking in the fuel delivery. A note, this started after we got the sub zero temps.

Vans make it tough because you have to remove the engine cover to access the distributor and most of the things you will need to check. The distributors with horizontal towers have a lot of crossfire problems.

you will need to check when it won't start what are you missing. Are you missing fuel pressure? Are you missing spark? are you missing injector pulse?
