1993 Chev rear brake woes!

Unread post by B_oomer » Mon Jan 25, 2010 5:38 pm

So today I hopped in my truck, and after driving only a few feet i heard this big clunk, and then my rear left tire wouldn't turn, I am hoping it's a problem with my brake, and not with my axel shaft or rear-end, but i am a novice when it comes to auto repair, so any help would be greatly appreciated..

Get the rear wheels off the ground and see if you can turn the other side both directions.
If not, then a problem inside rear end.
Or take rear drumoff and look at brakes.

With the drum off, graba hold of the axle to see if it moves with both side off the ground.
If it does not, remove the drive shaft from rear diff. and see what happens.
