sensor connectors on 1999 3.8L

Unread post by thirteenjewels » Wed Sep 10, 2014 2:59 pm

recently bought a 1999 Grand Prix 3.8L vin K
i see a connector (2 prong wires green and yellow) up in front of radiator
by front core support it's only about 8 inches long coming out of the wrap
of the harness don't know where it goes

And also near the battery (passenger side) just below the relay/fuse box is
the opposite end of plug (2 off set prong wires green and yellow) but the two
won't reach to plug together and with the off set prongs it doesn't look like it would
match up anyway

Can you help please?

there are many cars that have different options and other things but may use the same wire harness from the factory. Do the connectors look like they have been connected to something in the past? (look for the internal portion on the connector to look a lot cleaner that the outside) It is possible that they have never been plugged to anything in your vehicle from the factory. Are there any things in your vehicle that do not work or work improperly? If everything is working correctly I wouldn't worry about it.

It has been a very long time (in the auto repair business) since they had a full wiring diagram that showed every wire from the front of the car to the back of the car. way too many circuits. most diagrams are only of the particular circuit you may be working on. So to try and find a pair of wires that don't go to anything, you would have to look for things in the area of the plug or look for something that doesn't work.
