2004 Grand prix GTP Throttle position sensor location?
I need to know the exact location of the sensor. I have searched the web and have not have had any luck.
Thank you
Thank you

if you look at your throttle body, you should be able to see the throttle cable coming out from your gas pedal. The throttle cable attaches to the throttle body so that you can open the throttle (the plate inside to allow more air) on the other side of the throttle body, attached to the same shaft that the throttle cable moves is the throttle position sensor.
Or, if your engine is drive by wire, (no throttle cable, instead has electronic throttle operation, TAC) it would be on the opposite side of the TAC.
here is a picture of the TPS

Thank you for your quick reply! This has a drive wire. On the side of the throttle body (facing the font of the car) is black cover, which has gears under it. On the other side there is a wire cluster that is coming out of the throttle body with two wire connections. Looks nothing like the TPS.

On a drive by wire, there is no actual TPS sensor. It is internal to the throttle body and cannot be replaced. I am guessing you have a code stored in the computer? What is that code number.boltaction00 wrote:Thank you for your quick reply! This has a drive wire. If the TPS portion of the throttle body is faulty, the whole throttle body would need to be replaced.

also check for wire harness rubbing on the left side by the strut tower or near bpmv/ebcm bracket depending on what codes you have. APP codes

P1125 is for the Accelerator pedal position sensor. there are two potentiometers APP1 and APP2. They both read the position of the throttle. Did you have more than just one code?
you should use a scanner and watch the APP data streams while moving the throttle. (pushing slowly on the gas pedal all the way up and all the way back down) Watch for glitches as they move up and down. If everything looks smooth and no drop outs or spikes, try wiggling the wire harness that goes to the throttle body and see if that causes any glitches.

Make sure you have a good ground to the engine and the body.
