Buick wiper problem

Unread post by billucchos » Wed Jan 27, 2010 11:56 am

everything works fine except the delay option and when you turn the wipers off they do not stop. when you turn the ignition off then back on they stay off and return to the deck.

May be the delay board which is part of the wiper motor.
Also, try wiggling the wiper switch / handle while it is acting up to see if maybe the switch is the problem.
Other that that, you would need a schematic and volt meter to test the inputs to the wiper mtor from the switch.

Yes, does sound like the wiper delay board, which is part of the wiper motor.
Lift up the panel at the base of the windshield and tap on the wiper motor when it is acting up. This may cause the wipers to park. But e careful not to get anything in the way of the wiper transmission arms or linkage. Can be dangerous.

I have an intermitten problem with my speedo, when it quits working the check engine light comes on, and the idle either goes to very slow or very fast. This will last anywhere from a day to a couple of weeks, and then it will start working and the check engine light goes out idle returns to normal. This will only last a couple of hours at most and then repeat scenario.

Maybe the vehicle speed sensor on the right side of the trans., or even a computer problem.

Need to get the computer scanned to see if there are any other codes besides the speed sensor code that may be there.

So are you saying it dies out when you put it in gear? A little more information would help here, buddy.
