I have no power steering sometimes on my 2007 cobalt with the electric steering. The power

Answer:
The conditions you have with the electric power steering not working sometimes, and the power
steering warning on the driver info center may be related to a service bulletin. There is a bulletin
that depending on what code has been set in the power steering control module, that calls for the
replacement of the steering column assembly. There is an in internal failure. Your car is still
under factory warranty, so make an appointment with any GM dealer. The repair will take approx.
2 hours if the part is in stock.
UPDATE: See Comment Below.
that is a recall for the Cobalts. The power steering assist motor needs to be
changed.

Why wont they show the power steering sensor locations so we can do repair?
They will replace the assist motor that is not the problem in most cases..the assist
module and the piece behind the steering wheel is the problem and they want to
charge you up to 1000.00 to fix it...thats no fair for a on going problem on their
cars.
