Problem with my 2001 Chevy Venture. Lights ABS Question = ABS light comes on and stays on is it safe to keep driving like this ?
Answer: When the ABS light comes on in any GM vehicle, this means there is a problem in the anti-lock brake system and it has been disabled. This does not affect the normal braking system. You will just not have ABS.A common cause for the light is a faulty wheel speed sensor, or the wiring harness that come to the sensor . Most of todays vehicles have a sensor in each wheel. Scanning the computer for trouble codes will give an indication as to what part of the system has a problem.
Problem with my 2001 Chevy Venture 3.4l V6 3400 GM tech = KK question = I am replacing the intake gasket and need to know the torque(ft/lbs) and torque pattern for the intake. Also, are there any tips you have to prevent coolant leaks from reoccurring on the intake?
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses several sensors, motors, and a computer in conjunction with the normal braking system.
The ABS regulates the brake pressure in order to reduce wheel lock-ups. Reduced wheel lock-ups improve the driver's control of the vehicle during braking.
Improved stability and steering enable greater control of the vehicle in the case of an abrupt stop. The ABS operation is available from 5 km/h (3 mph) to the maximum vehicle speed. A warning light means a problem was detected, and the system needs to be scanned for codes in order find out the area the fault is in. With the light on, ABS operation is not present, but normal braking is.
