Chevy Silverado Transmission Code P0753

Question:
I have never had any problems out of the truck. The SES light came on and I lost 1st and 4th gears. When i take off from stop its in 2nd gear and then shifts normal to 3rd, but that is it that is all the shifting it will do. Reverse is fine. Code says its a shift solenoid. I don't know where that is and how big of a job to replace. Please help...Thank you. 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4wd 5.3L V8 Vortec. Service engine soon. A scanner codes = P0753.

Answer:
P0753 is for the 1-2 shift solenoid valve. It is located on the rear portion of the valve body. Removal of the transmission pan is required to replace it, if in fact it is faulty. Some testing of that solenoid and wiring is required to determine that. This code can also be caused by a loss of voltage to the trans.M/p>

Main connector that feeds that, and other solenoids in the trans. Usually you will also have codes for other solenoids as well if there is a voltage loss to that connector. A problem in the 1-2 shift solenoid valve or its circuit will cause all the problems you are having.

Question:
I have code C0237 this codes comes when i am driving around 30 mph and i go over i bump the brake light abs and rear speed sensor this has speed sensor on the transfer case you can drive the truck in the highway but as soon you go over i bump all this light comes on. Any suggestions? I disconnect all the speed sensor the abs module the transmission module i move the pcm to a better place still the problem there.

There are 2 vehicle speed sensors (vss) on the transfer case. 1 on left, 1 on rt., furthest to the rear. Inspect those wires VERY carefully. Also inspect the wires all the way back to the pcm under the hood. If all look ok, would suggest running new wires to both sensors. Have had a couple trucks with similar concern, the wires test good, pulling on wires does not should a broken wire, and had to run new wires to repair. Not sure why, but that is what fixed them.

Question:
Do you know where the On/Off shift solenoid is on a 1994 GMC Safari.

Answer:
(See picture below) Welcome and thanks for your question. If you are referring to shift on/of solenoid, they (shift a, shift b) are at the back of the valve body. Can be removed after taking down the transmission pan. A spring loaded clip needs to be removed, then the solenoid can be pulled out. A spring loaded valve is behind the solenoid, inside the valve body bore.
