tech = jk
question = i have no heat, but the ac is working fine. sometimes i
notice alot of water in the floor of the passanger side and the radiator
needs to be filled every so often. could this be a water pump?
JK:
If the fluid on the pass. side floor is coolant, this would be a sign of a
leaking heater core. If the fluid if just plain water, then that is most likely
from a plugged evaporator drain. This drains the water from the A/C
evaporator. Water is from the A/C taking the humidity out of the air.
If just water on the floor, and having to add coolant to radiator, then you
have a leak in the engine somewhere causing the no heat problem. Either a
water pump, hose, etc.
A cooling system pressure test would need to be done to locate the leak.
Another common area for leaks on this engine is the lower intake manifold
gaskets.
